The topics covered on this page include information regarding the creation and management of ECHO submitted through ECHO. It is the responsiblity of the Client Partner to accurately represent the ordering capabilities which ECHO and the Data Partners provide..
The information provided is broken up into the following topic areas:
The subscription service in ECHO allows a user to subscribe to metadata updates on collections or granules from specific providers. The Subscription Service GUI enables users to create, update, present, and/or delete ECHO subscriptions. The GUI also allows users to pause an active subscription, resume a paused subscription and renew an expired subscription.

The event notification service allows for the management of event notification subscriptions and delivery options. Event notification subscriptions allow third party applications to be notified by ECHO when an internal event occurs, such as a catalog modification (item added, removed, or updated) or an extended services modification (web service added, removed, or updated).
The event notification framework supports the delivery of the notifications in various ways, including FTP push, email, and a web service callback. ECHO provides a custom event notification API (EventSinkService) based up other WS standards such as WS-Eventing and WS-Notification. The EventSinkService can be implemented and hosted by an ECHO Client Partner in order to facilitate the HTTPSoap event notification delivery method.
The Event Notification service provides a mechanism for Clients to provide a remote interface defines the events that ECHO will broadcast to clients interested in events that occur in ECHO. The events supported currently include provider, service, and catalog modifications.
